We are pleased to announce the second workshop on Large-Scale Deep Learning for the Earth System.
It will take place on August 29 – 30, 2024 in the Universitätsclub Bonn, Germany.

Registration and abstract submission are open NOW, see details below.

The program will be formed based on the submitted abstracts and published in mid-July.

The workshop will again bring together the leading groups that develop large-scale neural networks for weather and climate.

Topics include:

  • machine learning-based numerical weather prediction

  • climate emulators

  • AI-based Earth system component models

  • machine learning from observations

  • foundation models for the Earth system

  • evaluation and explainability of large-scale machine learning models for weather and climate

The workshop will primarily be an in-person event in Bonn although online participation will be possible.
