Background on the appointment and role according to the statute:

The Directors’ Board appoints the members of the CESOC SAB who are internationally recognized in CESOC’s field of research but are not members of CESOC.

The primary role of the CESOC SAB is to advise the Directors’ Board in view of the achievement of CESOC’s objectives in particular by:

  1. Providing recommendations and opinions on scientific and structural development.
  2. Advising on major investments that align with CESOC’s mission.
  3. Offering recommendations and advice on internal evaluations for continuous improvement.

The term of appointment for SAB members is three years (with one possible reappointment). The SAB must convene once a year for an annual meeting, during which a chairperson will be elected to lead the discussions. Additionally, the board will be responsible for submitting a written report (e.g. via email) to the Directors’ Board, summarizing their findings and recommendations.
