As summer temperatures continue to rise, the first wildfires are breaking out across the CESOC region.
Near Forschungszentrum Jülich, fires are burning in the municipality of Hürtgenwald in the Düren district, where residents have been evacuated. The effects are also visible in Cologne.
Bernhard Pospichal from University of Cologne shows their ceilometer observations, including Doppler lidar measurements of the winds, providing valuable insights into the evolving atmospheric conditions.
