Code for Earth is a key innovation action run by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and supported by Copernicus and Destination Earth. It welcomes each summer individuals and developer teams from different backgrounds in earth sciences, like weather, climate, and atmosphere, computer sciences and software development to innovate, collaborate and develop open source software solutions. The program focuses on leveraging technology to make an impact.
Code for Earth grants selected teams, that successfully complete the projects, a €5,000 stipend.
This year’s edition will provide up to 13 challenges divided into of two streams:
- Software Development for Earth Science
- Machine Learning for Earth Science
