Majority of people nowadays use mobile phone as its name indicates, it is known because of its mobility. It can be carried anywhere and can be used for communicating with people wherever they may be. Another major use of mobile phones is sending and receiving text messages. Many people use mobile phones as a style quotient. Many handsets are available at various price ranges and it is the users’ choice.

The two major ringtone types are, monophonic, polyphonic. Monophonic free ringtones are simple series of musical notes and are played at one note at a time. The polyphonic ringtones are those where several notes are played at a time. In the beginning, the polyphonic free ringtones used sequenced recording methods similar to MIDI.

Through this method, the recordings just specify as to what synthetic instrument has to play the next note and so on. Hence the playback solely depends upon the device used for the playback purpose. The other types of tones that attract people widely are true tones and sing tones. The true tones are simple audio recordings that take up the formats such as, MP3 and AAC. Ever since I entered university, I never used my cell phone all that much. Honestly there was no need for it, because everything I wanted was a distance that was very accessible. However, when I came to known people use cell phones; I decided to bring it along but again never found a reason why I could use it. Leave alone adding new stuff like free ringtones, graphics, etc, I never used my phone often enough. The other day in class, his phone rang out loud with ‘Britney Spears (Chopped and Screwed) Slave For U’ playing loud. And when we asked him about it, he said he allotted tunes for different people on his phone for identification. The call that just came, he said was his wife’s. That day was really funny. I never could digest the fact that he had a thing for free ringtones as well; which was clear in the way he said it.
